Take a couple of deep breaths.
Recall that you are in the presence of God.
You are loved and blessed.

Revelation 2:10
10 Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Beware, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison so that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have affliction. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

M. Scott Peck says “We are bombarded by the media every possible minute suggesting that if we are not feeling comfortable, happy or fulfilled, then something must be terribly wrong. We must not own the right car; we must; we must not be eating the right cereal; or worst of all we must not have it right with God.”
I am reminded by todays scripture that sometimes we are tested, we need difficulties to grow. The old sayings “no pain, no gain” and “what does not kill us makes us stronger” have truth in them. When going through difficulty, I like to ask what can I learn through this experience.

Can I look to God in all the difficulties that I face, knowing that I am loved and that He stands with me through all my trials.
What can I do offer compassion and support to others who may be suffering?

Pray to God, using these words or others as you see fit.
Holy God,
Thank you for your presence and love.
Give me strength and courage to withstand all the trials that I go through.
And send Your Spirit be be with me.
I place all my trust and faith in you.
Help me be more aware of you in my life.
