Take a couple of deep breaths.
Recall that you are in the presence of God.
You are loved and blessed.

James 3:1
Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers and sisters, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness

If I know better I will be held to a higher standard. Our justice system treats children differently than adults for just that reason. But at some point, I can no longer use the excuse, I did not know or I did not fully appreciate the harm of my action. I must at some point take responsibility for myself.

How am I doing taking personal responsibility?
Do I regularly look at my thoughts, words and actions and compare them to how Jesus would have me think and speak and act?
When I mess up and fail and sin, do I beg God for forgiveness?

Pray to God, using these words or others as you see fit.
Holy God, you are all righteousness. You are perfect in every way.
You encourage me to become perfect even as you are perfect.
But I am not perfect, not yet anyway.
Forgive me when I fail, when I sin.
Thank you Jesus for your love and your sacrifice that gives me forgiveness, that gives me second chances.
Send your Holy Spirit to guide, and convict and help me grow into the person you want me to become.
Help me become more like Jesus in loving others.
Help me become more like Jesus in loving God as Father.
